Book review for English Class :)

As part of English class, Mrs. Brogan has asked us to do a review on a book we have read recently, i have recently finished the book 'Kensuke's kingdom' by Michael Mupurgo.

Kensuke’s Kingdom book cover

This novel was about a young boy named Michael, who set off along with his family aboard the boat, The Peggy Sue. Everything was going well, until a storm strikes, leaving Michael and his dog Stella drifting away. when they land on an island they meet several new characters and learn important life lessons, including the importance of trust.

I really enjoyed reading this  book for a number of reasons, but mainly because it has a good plot, and I have never read a book similar to this before. It had a page turning plot that made you want to keep reading. I would highly recommend this book to people of all ages, both students and adults, because I feel like everyone would enjoy it.

Bt young scientist

Bt Young Scientist

Today we got to go to the RDS to see the projects from the other schools around Ireland. It was really interesting to see some of the ideas that the groups came up with. There were some great projects, one group came up with a great idea and as part of their project the came up with two equations that will help prevent coffee rust, they went really far in the competition and got to be a runner up.
The eco part of the exabition was also really interesting, there was a really good stall on earthquakes and the effects of earthquakes, and it was really intesrting to listen to it.

We also went to the back of the exebition where there was RTE and intel and other stalls like that, and at the end of the day we got something to eat in the food canteen, before going back on the bus J

Fun Walk :)

Ty fun walk J

This year our colour for the fun walk was yellow, we spent a lot of time trying to decide what was the theme of the walk, but finally we all decided that we would do ‘stop cyberbullying’ and ‘snapchat ghost’ yenow cause snapchat is yellow and all that. The class was split into three groups: the ghosts, the supporters and the bullies. And the songs we choose to do were ‘what do you mean’ by Justin Bieber, ‘ghost busters’ and ‘easy love’ by sigala. It was really fun rehearsing for the dance, it was kind of scary because Aoife and Orla lifted me up as part of the dance but it all turned out okay on the day of the fun walk!!

On the day, our class had to do our dance first, but everything went really well and our class won J Gowan Merkel!!!!

Art Trip to Kilkenny :)

Art trip to Kilkenny J

On Thursday, the 24th of September, we got to go to Kilkenny for an art trip. On the day we all arrived at the school early at 8:15, after a 2 hours on the bus we finally arrived. While we were there we got the chance to see the movie ‘The song of the sea’. It was a really good movie and the animation was done really well. Afterwards we walked back to killkenny castle and had our lunch on the ground and played in the playground for a while until the secrurity guard told us we were too old and kicked us out. Lel. It was a lovely day so walked around the castle grounds and took a lot of photos.
After lunch it was our turn to visit ‘the song of the sea’ animation gallery inside the killkenny castle. It was interesting to see the different sketches, and all the work that was put into the making of the movie.

When the tour of the gallery was finished we took a group photo of all the tys J
